Born and raised in Sofia, Bulgaria, Daniel developed a passion for learning languages and exploring different cultures during high school. After studying English, German, and Russian as foreign languages, he moved to Berlin, where he completed his Bachelor in Japanese Studies at Freie Universität Berlin. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in FU’s MA program Global East Asia, further expanding his understanding and knowledge of the languages and cultures in East Asia. His experiences as an international student in Germany and in Tokyo, Japan, where he spent a year on exchange, made him appreciate the immense value of studying abroad. As a student advisor within the FUBiS team, Daniel aims to help international students make their experiences abroad as valuable and enriching as his own.
